Welcome to DALARNA UNIVERSITY!

First of all we want to congratulate you that you have this wonderful opportunity to experience what international studies is all about :) For the beginning of your stay here, we would like to introduce Dalarna university with some interesting and hopefully useful information.

DU was established in 1977 and now offers wide range of study programs for 16000 campus and distance students. University has two campuses in different cities – Börlänge and Falun, but they are close to each other so you can have courses on both campuses. Interesting fact that according to the statistics, whose students that have graduated from Dalarna University, found job faster in comparison with the other universities in Sweden.

One of the most important goals to DU is to be a leader at distance learning, that’s why university has many web-based distance courses, seminars, lectures which you can watch online.

University tries to support students and has many consultants in different fields: if you have issues with your study plans or future careers you can contact STUDY AND CAREER ADVICE and they will help you; DU also provides STUDENT COUNSELLING SERVICES if you need someone to talk to; you can meet University Chaplain as well.

CAMPUS FALUN

Campus is situated in very beautiful place close to nature just outside the town center and is divided into sectors: School of Health and Social Studies, The School of Education and Humanities, School of Languages and Media Studies.

This campus could be proud of having one of the best-equipped sporting labs “Dala Sports Academy”. It includes swimming pool, tennis courts, a hockey arena and etc. Find out more:

Campus is interesting not only for well-developed sport facilities, but for languages and Media Center. If you would like to learn Japanese or Arabic you can do it here! DU offers courses for 11 different languages and this language department is one of the biggest in whole Sweden.

The other great thing about Falun campus is that you can not only theoretically study a subject, but to “taste” it in real life. For example, you can find Media Center just few hundred meters from the main building and there students have possibility to work with equipment for video, sound and music production.
